Installation

This SDK can be used in two ways:

  • Python package (recommended for most users)

  • C dynamic library (for C/C++ or any language with C FFI)

All packages are published in the Qtechnology GitLab package registry.

Prebuilt packages are available for Linux (x86_64, glibc 2.28 or newer) and Windows (x86_64).

Python installation

Note

Python 3.10 or later is required.

pip install --index-url https://gitlab.com/api/v4/projects/75709056/packages/pypi/simple qtec-hv-sdk
uv add --index https://gitlab.com/api/v4/projects/75709056/packages/pypi/simple qtec-hv-sdk

Note

If your environment requires a different or additional index, keep it and add the Qtechnology registry with --extra-index-url instead of replacing the index:

pip install --extra-index-url https://gitlab.com/api/v4/projects/75709056/packages/pypi/simple qtec-hv-sdk

To check the installation, print the installed version:

python -c "from importlib.metadata import version; import qtec_hv_sdk; print(version('qtec-hv-sdk'))"

The package is imported as qtec_hv_sdk. The documentation uses the alias hs throughout:

import qtec_hv_sdk as hs

C dynamic library installation

Download prebuilt archives from the Generic package registry for qtec-hv-sdk. Each archive contains the header hv-sdk.h in include, and the hsi library.

Windows (x86_64)

  1. Download the 1.1.1 archive for Windows (x86_64): windows SDK (v1.1.1)

  2. Extract it to a folder of your choice, e.g. C:\qtec-hv-sdk.

  3. Add the lib directory, which contains hsi.dll, to your PATH so applications can locate the DLL:

    • Start menu → “Edit the system environment variables” → Environment Variables

    • Under “User variables” (or “System variables”), edit Path and add C:\qtec-hv-sdk\lib

  4. Compile with C:\qtec-hv-sdk\include on the include path and link against C:\qtec-hv-sdk\lib\hsi.lib.

Linux (x86_64)

  1. Download the 1.1.1 archive for Linux (x86_64): linux SDK (v1.1.1)

  2. Extract it to a folder of your choice.

  3. Compile with the archive’s include directory on the include path, and link against hsi from its library directory, for example -I<sdk>/include -L<sdk-libdir> -lhsi.

  4. Make the library visible at runtime, either by adding its directory to LD_LIBRARY_PATH or by copying it to a system library directory and running ldconfig.

Then include the header in your program:

#include <hv-sdk.h>
